IMMEDIATELY AFTER

What to Expect:

It is common to experience mild redness, swelling or small raised areas at the injection sites, which typically settle within several hours. Mild bruising may also occur. You may notice slight tenderness, a temporary tight sensation in the treated area, or a mild headache, most commonly in the forehead. These responses are expected and part of the normal post treatment process.

..

The next 24-72 hrs

What to Expect:

You may continue to notice minor redness, swelling or small bumps at the injection sites. Mild tenderness or bruising may persist during this time and typically settles within this period. These responses are normal and should gradually improve as the area settles.

results & maintenance

What to Expect:

Results develop gradually, with treatment effects typically becoming noticeable within two to seven days and reaching full effect by around fourteen days. Longevity varies between individuals but is generally three to four months, depending on muscle strength, facial movement patterns and lifestyle factors.

Follow up appointments are not routinely scheduled before ten days post treatment, as full effectiveness can take up to fourteen days to be achieved. Reviewing too early may increase the risk of asymmetry or over treatment. Where required, follow up appointments are best performed between two and three weeks post treatment to support safe and therapeutic administration. Earlier review may be arranged only following discussion with The Manor Clinic or in the event of a medical concern.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE GUIDANCE

  • To support optimal healing, minimise potential side effects and help achieve the best possible results, please follow the guidance below.

  • Activity and Lifestyle Considerations
Avoid alcohol on the day of treatment, as it may increase the likelihood of bruising. Remain upright for at least four hours following your appointment. Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat exposure, saunas and very hot showers for at least seventy two hours.

  • Skin Care and Physical Contact
Do not touch, rub or apply pressure to the treated areas. Avoid applying makeup for six to eight hours to reduce the risk of infection. Do not massage, apply heavy pressure or perform vigorous rubbing over treated areas for at least forty eight hours unless specifically advised by your practitioner.

  • Cosmetic and Skin Treatments
Facials, facial waxing, IPL, laser treatments and glycolic or AHA peels should be avoided for two weeks following treatment unless otherwise discussed with your practitioner.

  • Supporting Skin Health
Maintaining adequate hydration and using a daily broad spectrum SPF 50+ may assist in supporting skin health and treatment outcomes. Maintaining healthy zinc levels may support overall skin quality and normal healing processes. While there is emerging interest in zinc’s potential role in supporting treatment longevity, evidence remains limited. You should speak with your general practitioner or healthcare provider before commencing any supplement to ensure it is appropriate for you.

  • Longevity and Maintenance
Treatment longevity is typically three to four months, depending on muscle strength, facial movement patterns and lifestyle factors. Regular treatments may be scheduled every three to four months based on individual response and clinical assessment.

  • It is common to experience mild and temporary effects following wrinkle reduction and muscle relaxant treatments. These responses are generally short lived and part of the normal post treatment process.

    You may notice:

    • Mild tenderness at the injection sites

    • Minor bruising or swelling

    • A temporary feeling of tightness in the treated area, particularly the forehead

    • A mild headache, most commonly in the forehead region

These effects typically resolve within a few hours to several days. Individual responses vary, and your practitioner will provide guidance on what is normal for you and when to seek further advice if required.

  • It is not uncommon to notice temporary unevenness or changes in movement as treatment effects develop and the product settles. Results typically begin to appear within one to seven days and reach full effect by around fourteen days.

For this reason, review appointments are not routinely scheduled before ten days post treatment, as assessing results too early may increase the risk of asymmetry or over treatment. Where required, reviews are best performed between two and three weeks after treatment to allow results to stabilise and be assessed accurately. Earlier review may be arranged only following discussion with The Manor Clinic or in the event of a medical concern.

  • If you are planning for a special event, we recommend scheduling your appointment no later than four weeks beforehand. This allows sufficient time for results to fully settle and, if required, for a review appointment to be performed. While treatment effects often peak around two weeks, results continue to refine over the following weeks, with balance and symmetry typically settling most naturally by around four weeks.

  • Most patients are able to return to work and normal daily activities immediately after treatment. Mild redness, swelling, small raised areas, tenderness or bruising may occur at the injection sites. Some patients may also experience a temporary tight sensation in the treated area or a mild headache, most commonly in the forehead. These effects typically resolve within a few hours to several days. Individual responses vary, and your practitioner will advise you on what to expect based on your treatment plan.

  • Treatment effects develop gradually and vary between individuals.

    Around 2 weeks:
By approximately two weeks, treatment effects are typically at their peak, with muscles reaching their maximum level of relaxation. This is generally the point at which final results are assessed.

    6–8 weeks:
Some gradual return of movement may begin to occur as muscle activity slowly resumes. Results usually remain visible during this phase, with facial expression often feeling more natural.

    3–4 months:
Muscle movement continues to return progressively. For most patients, treatment effects diminish over this timeframe and movement gradually returns toward baseline levels.

    Please note
Individual results vary. While treatment effects commonly last three to four months, some patients may notice changes sooner. Factors such as individual metabolism, muscle strength and baseline muscle activity, facial movement patterns, genetics, age related changes and lifestyle factors can influence both the onset and longevity of treatment effects. External influences including stress levels, physical activity, sun exposure, overall skin health and nutritional status may also play a role. Adequate zinc levels are important for normal cellular function and tissue repair; however, evidence linking zinc supplementation directly to prolonged treatment longevity is limited and not conclusive.
If you feel your results are wearing off earlier than expected, speak with your practitioner. Your practitioner can reassess your individual response, review contributing factors and discuss whether adjustments to your treatment plan or alternative treatment approaches may be appropriate.

  • Some treatment areas involve larger and stronger muscle groups, such as the masseter (jaw slimming) and trapezius (trap slimming) muscles. Due to their size, strength and functional role, these muscles respond differently to treatment compared to smaller facial muscles. As a result, timelines, longevity and dosing considerations may vary.

Initial effects are typically noticed within two to four weeks as muscle activity gradually reduces and visible softening develops. Changes occur progressively rather than immediately.

Treatment longevity for larger muscle groups is often longer than for smaller facial muscles and commonly lasts approximately four to six months. Duration varies depending on individual anatomy, baseline muscle strength, physical activity levels, posture, stress, lifestyle factors and the amount of product required to achieve therapeutic relaxation.

Because these muscles are larger and more powerful, increased dosing is often required to achieve the desired effect, particularly during initial treatment. With consecutive treatments, some individuals may experience increased longevity as muscle activity and bulk gradually reduce over time. In certain cases, scheduling a follow up treatment earlier than six months after the initial session may support longer term results and allow progression toward a twice yearly maintenance schedule.

All dosing, timing and maintenance recommendations are determined through individual clinical assessment to ensure safety, preservation of normal function and balanced outcomes.

    Please note
Individual responses vary, and larger muscle treatments may require ongoing review and tailored treatment planning. Your practitioner will guide you on expected timelines, longevity and appropriate maintenance based on your anatomy and response to treatment.
